Dr. Haigang Chen received
the BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Shanghai
Jiao Tong University (SJTU)
in 1999 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph. D. degree in
Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)
in 2007. His Ph. D. study is focused on the lubrication and nano-tribology of head-disk interface in hard disk drives,
conducted in the Data Storage Systems Center (DSSC). He had
two summer interns in Seagate Technology Research Center in
2005 and 2006. Before joining CMU, he worked as a research
associate to develop a HBV diagnostic DNA chip in Shanghai
Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology
(SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, from March 2002 to
July 2003.
Dr. Chen has been with
Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) since Oct. 2007, where he is
currently a Project Lead Engineer in the R&D organization of
Media Supplies and Solutions, a division in Image Printing
Group (IPG). He is the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed
papers and numerous conference presentations. He is a senior
member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)
and member of Society for Imaging Science and Technology
(SIST).
Haigang Chen
served as the monitor of undergraduate and graduate class
during his study in SJTU. He also served as the secretary of
science and technology of SJTU graduate students union from
2000 to 2002. Currently he serves as the Director of Alumni
Service of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Foundation of
America (SJTUFA).
