ABOUT SJTUFA

Shanghai Jiao Tong University Foundation of America (SJTUFA) is a nonprofit corporation established in 2005 in the State of California. SJTUFA is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is classified as a private foundation under IRC Section 509.  SJTUFA tax ID number (EIN) is 76-0802983.

SJTUFA is operated by SJTU alumni volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to connect the generosity of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) community in the United States with educational opportunities and initiatives at SJTU. Through charitable giving and alumni engagement, we support students, faculty, education, and academic programs that help advance SJTU’s educational mission.

We also seek to foster enduring connections among SJTU alumni, the University, and communities in the United States, to encourage educational and cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and sharing of knowledge.

We believe that education, knowledge, and meaningful human connections can transcend borders and contribute to a more informed, connected, and collaborative world.

GOVERNANCE & COMPLIANCE

SJTUFA conducts its activities in accordance with applicable U.S. federal and state laws governing charitable organizations and private foundations. The Foundation maintains appropriate oversight and financial controls to promote responsible stewardship of donor funds and accountability.

SJTUFA does not participate in political campaign activities or engage in activities inconsistent with its tax-exempt status.
